What To Build for the Mini-Challenge
Interactive Asset Mini-Challenge pushes creators to build dynamic and interactive assets that can be used and remixed by other creators. We’re specifically looking for assets that include scripts and are:
- Dynamic: We want to see assets that come alive with scripts! Think interactive elements, animations, or effects that make your asset stand out.
- Reusable: Your asset should be versatile enough to be used in various contexts, such as different worlds, scenes, or even genres. The more adaptable it is, the better!
- Sharable: Your asset should be designed to be easily shared and remixed by other creators. This means making it easy to understand, modify, and integrate into their own projects.
Who Can Participate
To be eligible to submit an entry and win one of the prizes, you must be a member of the Meta Horizon Creator Program (MHCP) before the competition submission deadline. You do not have to submit a remixable world as part of the competition to participate in the Interactive Asset Mini-Challenge.
How to submit an asset in the Interactive Asset Mini-Challenge
- Determine the asset you’d like to submit (it must be interactive, aka utilize scripts)
- Publish your asset to the Public Assets library in the desktop editor.
- Submit your asset to the competition. You will need to include a description, usage instructions and/or an instructional video link for how to use your asset. You will also see how many submissions you have remaining, as well as having the ability to temporarily hide your asset from Public Assets for the duration of the competition.
*If you are submitting a script-only asset, be sure that you leverage the details, instruction and video fields to demonstrate how your asset can be used, so we are able to fairly and accurately judge it - Congrats! Your asset has been submitted! Please note that each participant has a maximum of 10 submissions.
- If for any reason, you’d like to withdraw your submission, removing the asset from Public Assets will automatically withdraw it from the competition.
Asset Documentation
Ultimately all competition submissions will become a part of the Public Assets library to help accelerate other creators in the community. Here you can read about general guidance for making an asset public. Additionally we advise participants to review our documentation for Using Typescript in Meta Horizon Worlds.
Tips for Building Interactive Assets
Interactive assets are assets that leverage scripting (Typescript) for enhanced logic and functionality. This document provides an overview for Using Typescript in Meta Horizon Worlds. We also recognize that you may want to make a submission that is script-only, making it a prime example of a reusable template for other creators to leverage. Use the following steps to submit a script-only asset (demo video):
- Create an Empty object
- Attach your script
- Create an Asset Template from it
- Make this asset public
- You're ready to submit it to the competition!
